Mr. Norfleet Stewart, age 74, of Augusta, Georgia passed away on Saturday, March 28, 2026 at a local health care center.
A native of Compton, California, Mr. Stewart was born on November 13,1951, the son of the late Willie and Adielia Benson Stewart. Mr. Stewart proudly in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. After his military service, Mr. Stewart was employed at a mechanic with Firestone and having such a great talent for automobiles, he was promoted to manager of the Firestone store he was working. He was preceded in death by his parents, and by his brother, Marvin Stewart, by two sisters, Lorraine Stewart and Judy Lynn Stewart. During his life, Mr. Stewart enjoyed any game played by the LA Lakers, Rams or Dodgers. He enjoyed fishing and long walks on the beach and as a teenager, playing the trumpet. Mr. Stewart was an inspiration to many people during his life and it was said to know him was to love him.
Survivors include his wife; Mrs. Sally McNeil. One daughter, Letitia Stewart. Three brothers, Gregory Stewart, Ronald Stewart, Sr. and Malcolm Stewart. A number of nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services for Mr. Stewart will be conducted on Saturday, April 18, 2026 at 11 am from the Wildwood Christian Church in Hepzibah, Georgia with Pastor officiating. Burial will follow in the Fort Jackson Cemetery with military rites on .
The family will receive friends on Friday April 17, 2026 at the funeral home from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to the St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital.
