Nerissa Teresa Bates entered into rest on Thursday, July 3, 2025 at age 88 in Evans, Ga.
Nerissa leaves behind to cherish her memory her daughters Beverly Bates and Shelley Bates; brother Moses Honore; and sisters Kathleen Weekes and Helen Vidale. Preceding her in death is her beloved husband, Gerald Bates; brothers Edward Honore, Richard Honore, Lewis Honore, and Phillip Honore; and sister Naomi Honore.
Memorial services will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, July 9, 2025 at Platt’s Funeral Home, Belair Chapel, Father Fransisco Gamboa officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the start of service from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM. A reception will be held immediately following the service.
