Nell Beatrice Baker

On January 8, 2022 at the age of 98, Nell Baker said goodbye to her earthly home to join family and friends in her heavenly home promised by her Lord Jesus Christ. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, January 18, 2022 at Damascus Baptist Church, 6375 Ridge Road, Appling, GA at 3:00 pm with visitation an hour before at 2:00 pm.
Nell was the daughter of Fred Wallace McCullough and lla Lee Oliver. She married Allen Baker September 15, 1940 and enjoyed many years together until his death in 2009. Nell graduated from Millen High School in 1940. She joined the staff of Thomson Company on March 29, 1949 in Millen Georgia. On October 13, 1964 she transferred to the New Plant in Martinez GA where she retired in August 1985. She and Allen built their dream home on Thurmond Lake and lived there until Allen's health required their move to Evans, GA to be near family. Nell was a member of Damascus Baptist Church, Friendship Sunday School Class, DARPS. She was a member of Edith Cavell Chapter OES in Millen where she was Worthy Matron and District Grand Deputy of District 23. Nell is survived by her son Allen Baker, three grandsons Gregory and Kari Baker of Evans, Richard and Kristin Baker of Kure Beach NC, and David and Charina Baker of Evans. Great Granddaughters Audrey and Laura Baker, Great Grandsons Jake and Luke Baker,
Sister and brother-in-law Mary and Lewis Stewart of Evans, Sisters-in-law Jerri McCullough of Evans and Weesa McCullough of Demorest GA. She was predeceased by her Father and Mother, Brothers Wallace McCullough and Anthony McCullough and daughter-in-law Karen Baker. She leaves many precious family members.
Pallbearers will be Gregory Baker, Richard Baker, David Baker, Lew Stewart, Robert McCullough, and Paul Morgan.
