Nancy Erbland of 4275 Owens Rd, Evans, GA passed away peacefully on Tuesday, March 10, 2026.
Nancy was born on June 5, 1931 in Altoona, PA to Carl and Marion Whipple. She grew up in Altoona and Warren PA, and studied nursing at the University of Rochester, NY where she met and then married John Francis Erbland. Nancy worked as a nurse in Rochester, then in Danvers, MA, and at University and VA hospitals in Augusta. Nancy was a devoted, loving mother and care giver raising 5 children and providing compassionate home-care to her father Carl and husband John during their final years. She moved to Brandon Wilde in Evans, GA in 2018 and found a wonderful community with many close friends. Nancy was a faith-filled, kind, gentle and loving soul who beautifully reflected the Lord in her care of and service to others. She was an active member of First Baptist Church of Evans and attended weekly live feeds of the service at First Baptist Church of Augusta when she lived at Brandon Wilde. She was also a wonderful dog mom to her two rescues, Scooby Doo and Cinderella. She is survived by her daughter Joanna and husband Lewis Caputa and grandchildren Maggie and Mary; son Peter and wife Diane and grandchildren Andrew and Daniel; son Mark and wife Cathy and grandchildren Courtney, Casey, and Christy; sons Timothy and Christopher, and numerous great-grandchildren. She will be deeply missed.
