Nancy Conlan Boatwright, 90, entered into eternal rest on Monday, March 23, 2026 in Aiken, South Carolina surrounded by loved ones.

A memorial service will be held at 1:30 on Sunday, March 29, 2026, at Platt’s Funeral Home on Crawford Ave in Augusta, Georgia with Pastor Dusty Wammack officiating. The family will receive visitors beginning at 12:30 p.m. on March 29 at Platt’s. They also welcome visitors to Mark Boatwright’s home after the service: 1810 McDowell St. in Augusta, 30904.

Nancy was born on January 12, 1936 in Clarksville, TX to William Thomas Conlan and Anna Marie Hays Conlan. She was one of five children.

Nancy was Willis Foreman’s “Teacher of the Year” and served her community as a public-school elementary teacher for many years before retiring. She lived a life devoted to family and friends and committed to being genuine and kind to everyone she encountered. She enjoyed traveling the world with those she loved, but she found just as much joy in solitary passions like drawing and quilting. Almost 30 years ago she hosted a family reunion of over 60 Conlan family members. This event has since become a biennial, week-long gathering which takes the Conlans all over the U.S. For several years she has served as its matriarch, now known as “Fancy Nancy” to her multiple grand and great-grand nieces and nephews. But her favorite moniker was always “Nonni,” as she was known to her grandchildren. Her last years – among the happiest of her life - were spent at Barclay House Assisted Living Home, where she was more than just a resident. She became part of their family, and they became part of hers.

She is preceded in death by her parents, William Thomas Conlan and Anna Marie Hays Conlan; sister, Betty Dolan; son, William (Billy) N. Boatwright Jr.; brother-in-law, Richard Dolan; daughter-in-law, Lisa Cayton Boatwright; and former husband William (Bill) N. Boatwright.

Nancy is survived by her son, Mark T. Boatwright; daughter, Juliana Boatwright Taylor (Allen); brother, Larry N. Conlan (Irene); sisters Theresa Gras (Sidney) and Judy Hemingway (Ernie); and grandchildren, Samuel Conlan Boatwright Taylor, Connor Ring Taylor, and Caroline Morgan Taylor.

Arrangements were provided by Platt's Funeral Home, 721 Crawford Avenue, Augusta, GA 30904 (706) 733-3636. Please take a moment to share your condolences by signing the online guestbook at plattsfuneralhome.com.
