Mary Jo Taylor Hughes

Mrs. Mary Jo Taylor Hughes, 83, beloved wife of the late Rudolph “Rudy” Hughes, entered into rest on March 16, 2022.

A mass of Christian burial will be held at 2:30 PM on Thursday, March 24, 2022 at the Church of the Most Holy Trinity with Rev. Jacob Almeter serving as celebrant. Interment to follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park.

Mrs. Hughes was a lifelong resident of Augusta and had resided at St. John Towers for many years. She enjoyed volunteering and helping with many of the activities there. She enjoyed helping others especially through being a foster parent to many children.

Mrs. Hughes is survived by her siblings, William T. Taylor, Jr. and Dorothy Dugan; several nieces and nephews and she is also survived by her special friend, Kathy Ivey and her loving caregiver, Wendy Fore. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Bonnie Kirby; and sister, Hazel Humphrey.

The family will receive friends in the church narthex one hour prior to the services.
