Mary Howe

Mary Howe, 93, entered an eternal rest on Thursday, July 17, 2025. She was born on June 20, 1932, in Illinois to Charles Smith and Ava Dunlap Smith. She was one of eight children and the last surviving sibling.

Mary moved to Evans, GA to spend the last six years of her life near family. She was a loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She loved to paint, work jigsaw puzzles, and was an avid reader.

She is preceded in death by husbands, Robert Allen Legg and William J. Howe, her parents, Charles Smith and Ava Dunlap Smith, her brothers, Carson and Ray, her sisters, Marge, Bonnie, June, Susie, and Maxine, her son, David Keith Legg, and her great granddaughter, Addie Edwards.

She is survived by her sons, Bret Allen Legg (Libby Legg) and Todd Edward Legg (Debbie Latour), grandchildren, Joshua Legg, Amy Martin, and Casey Edwards, and her great grandchildren, Tinslee Moye, Sara Martin, and Greyson Edwards.

A graveside service will be planned for later this fall in Illinois.
