Mary Eidson Kelly

Augusta, GA – Mrs. Mary Eidson Kelly, 95, entered into rest on Monday, April 4, 2016 at her residence. She was preceded in death by her husband, Dr. Gordon McNeill Kelly.

Funeral services will be held today, Wednesday, April 6, 2016 at 3:00 PM at Covenant Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Karla Conditt Daniels and the Rev. Holly Shoaf-O’Kula officiating. Burial to follow in Westover Memorial Park.

Mrs. Kelly was the daughter of the late Arthur Eidson and the late Julia Corley Eidson of Ward, SC. She was the youngest of eight children and lived most of her life in Augusta.

Mrs. Kelly is survived by her three children, Julie Kelly Carswell and her husband James Joseph Carswell, III of North Augusta, SC, Susan Eidson Kelly of Augusta, and Gordon McNeill Kelly, Jr. and his wife Tamie of Toccoa, GA; her four grandchildren, James Joseph Carswell, IV and his wife Tracy of Mt. Pleasant, SC, Mary Anne Carswell Franklin and her husband John of Augusta, McNeill Carswell Strang and her husband Andrew of Birmingham, AL, and William Gordon Schaffer of Augusta; her seven great-grandchildren, Walker and Kelly Carswell of Mt. Pleasant, SC, McNeill, Jack, and Jim Franklin of Augusta, and Anne Marshall and Harris Strang of Birmingham, AL; and by her dear friend, Annie Lizzie Overstreet.
