Linda Thompson Gledhill, 79, beloved wife of 50 years of the late Carl Wayne Gledhill, entered peacefully into rest on February 27, 2024.
A mass of Christian burial will be held at 12:00 PM on Saturday, March 2, 2024 at St. Mary on the Hill Catholic Church with Rev. Mark Ross serving as celebrant. Interment to follow at Westover Memorial Park.
Linda was born in Augusta, graduated from the Academy of Richmond County High School and Augusta Junior College. She was a teacher and the Director of Religious Education at many churches, in Louisiana and Georgia. Linda was very creative and often enjoyed painting flowers and writing stories. Linda loved spending time with her family, crocheting, playing cards, shopping and traveling; especially to Gatlinburg and Hilton Head. She will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and teacher.
Linda is survived by her daughters, Susan Woo (Darren), Jennie Miller (George), Elizabeth Wessling (Eric) and Katy Christensen; her sister, Kathryn Thompson; her grandchildren, Michelle Johnson (Chip), Ashleigh O’Keefe (Ryan), Bradley Miller (Chasity), Zach Woo (Summer), Blake Miller (Baylee), Nick Woo (Brynn), Jacob Woo (Gabbi), Claire Miller, Andrew Woo, Thomas Woo and Ian Wessling; her great-grandchildren, Ryleigh O’Keefe, Brendon O’Keefe, Ford Johnson, Saylor Miller, Miller Anne Johnson and Caroline Woo; and by many nieces, nephews and extended family members. In addition to her husband, Linda was preceded in death by her parents, Charles Thompson, Jr. and Mary Kathryn Elliott Thompson; and her brother, Charles “Chuck” Thompson.
The family would like to thank Mrs. Gledhill’s caregiver Georgette Williams, Georgia Hospice Care and Amedysis Home Healthcare team.
Pallbearers will be Mrs. Linda’s grandsons: Zach Woo, Nick Woo, Jacob Woo, Andrew Woo, Thomas Woo and Ian Wessling.
A vigil will be held at 5:00 PM on Friday, March 1, 2024 at Platt’s Belair Chapel. The family will receive friends following the vigil until 7:00 PM.
