Linda Louise Meister, daughter of Louise and Forest Trautwein, passed away peacefully Friday, April 15 in Augusta, Georgia at the age of 83.
Linda was born November 21, 1938 in Dixon, Illinois. She grew up on the weekends going to her family's farm, Glendale Farm, on the Rock River; participated in dog shows with her Boston terriers; and was a member of the Dixon High School marching band. She was heavily involved in the P.E.O. Sisterhood throughout her life, joining at age 18, and was also a Daughter of the American Revolution.
She attended Indiana University and graduated in 1960 with a degree in Medical Records Administration. Following graduation, she visited Hawaii with her college roommate, where she would meet her future husband Mervyn Meister. She made a lifelong career out of being a Medical Records Administrator, first at Bloomington Hospital, and then to IU Health Center later in her career where she retired from.
Linda was a dedicated Hoosiers fan - never missing a game, lover of dogs, and loved traveling with her husband and family. Every summer since the 1970s they spent time with family and friends in Hilton Head, South Carolina.
She is survived by her husband of 60 years, Mervyn Meister; her daughter Christina Myers and her husband Darin Myers; her son Andrew Meister and his wife Jill Habbe Meister; and her four granddaughters: Hannah Myers, Emma Myers, Lilly Meister and Hadley Meister.
