Mrs. Linda Cheryl Fox, wife of the late James Larry Fox Sr., entered into rest on Wednesday, May 6, 2026 at her residence.
Friends are invited to celebrate Cheryl’s life at a memorial service in the Crawford Avenue Chapel of Platts Funeral Home on Wednesday, May 13, 2026 at 1:00 PM. Burial will be private at a later date.
Cheryl was born in Augusta to William and Talula Bennett in 1947. She graduated from the Academy of Richmond County in 1965, and the very next year, she married the love of her life, Larry Fox. She shared 53 devoted years of marriage with him, building a life rooted in faith, love, and kindness, before his death in 2019.
She had a deep love for music and was an accomplished pianist. For many years, she faithfully served as choir director at Central Christian Church, where music was her ministry.
She is survived by her children, James L. Fox Jr. (Ursula) and Julie Fox, her sister, Susan Harpole (James), her grandchildren, Samantha, James Thomas, Morgan and Jordan, and a great grandson Dakota. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Larry, her parents, William and Talula, and a grandson, Cody.
The family wishes to thank Jennifer, Teresa, Clara and the staff of Arabella Care for their care of Cheryl during her illness.
