Linda Lee Coffman

Mrs. Linda Lee Coffman, beloved wife of Melvyn, entered into rest on Thursday, February 5, 2026, at her residence.

Friends are invited to a visitation that will be held on Friday, February 6, 2026 from 3:00 until 5:00 PM, at Platt's Funeral Home, 721 Crawford Avenue.

Linda was born in Morris, Illinois to Kenneth and Mary Alice Burk. She attended Northern Illinois University and LSU to study business but found her calling as a freelance travel writer. Her columns and articles, full of cruising tips and travel advice have appeared in many publications, including Consumers Digest, Porthole, the Chicago Sunday Times, USA Today, the Travel Channel, and various other publications and newspapers. She was the cruise guide for About.com, before starting her own website called Cruisediva.com., and authored two books for Fodor’s about cruising the Caribbean.

She is survived by her brother, Jerome Burk of Lake Elsinore, California, and her dear friends, Roger and Lori Davis. She is also survived by her sweet cat, Lisa Marie.
