Augusta, GA - Lewkas Kaydyn-Nahkai Virata Rhone was a strong, fun loving child who touched many people. He had many friends who enjoyed his company and created many smiles from his joyful personality. Even though diagnosed with a serious medical condition he woke up every day with ambition and the will to live a normal life, regardless of his physical appearances or functions. Lewkas will always be remembered forever.
A mass of Christian burial will be held at 9:30 AM on Friday, April 12, 2013 at the Good Shepherd Chapel (St. Michael Parish) Building 29608 Barnes Avenue Fort Gordon, GA 30905 with Rev. Joseph P. Lea serving as celebrant. Interment to follow in Bellevue Memorial Gardens.
Lewkas is survived by Mary Rose Virata Montalla (mother), Erick Montalla (stepfather), Lu-Kipchobe Rhone (father), Richard & Remedios Virata (maternal grandparents), Geneva Easterling (Great Grandmother), Lew & Margret Rhone (paternal grandparents), Anna Marie, Angelica, Christopher Virata, Latanya, Tonii & Nigel Rhone (Aunts & Uncles).
The family is asking for donations instead of flowers. Proceeds will be delivered by mother to St. Jude and Children’s MCG for a plaque in Lewkas’ honor.
A vigil service will be held at 6:00 PM on Thursday, April 11, 2013 at Platt’s Belair Road Chapel. The family will receive friends following the vigil until 8:00 PM.
