Leroy Nichols

Leroy Nichols, 72, beloved husband of Esther Leverett Nichols, entered into rest on June 21, 2023.

Graveside services will be held at 2:00 PM on Sunday, June 25, 2023 at West View Cemetery with Chaplain Dexter Lambert officiating.

Mr. Nichols worked with the Augusta Housing Authority for over 20 years. He was a kindhearted man that would give you the shirt off his back. Mr. Nichols will be remembered as a loving, caring and generous man. All who met Mr. Nichols loved him.

In addition to his wife, Mr. Nichols is survived by his daughters, Christy Nichols, Sheila Nichols and Sandy Nichols; his brothers, Jerry Nichols and Roger “Bo” Nichols (Donna Sue); his grandchildren, Shaun Jadallah, Autumn Redfern, Kayden Redfern, Levi Nichols, Keirsten Thigpen, Chelsea Strickland, Amber Strickland, Taylor Thigpen and Brian Strickland; and by his best friend, Joe Wisniewski. He was preceded in death by his parents, Vesta and Edith Nichols; his brother, J.T. Nichols; and by his sister-in-law, Pat Nichols.

Pallbearers will be Bobby Thigpen, Timothy Price, Shaun Jadallah, Dean Redfern, Garrett Stringfield and Kurt Leverett.

The family will receive friends Saturday evening, June 24, 2023 from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM at Platt’s Crawford Avenue Chapel.
