Augusta, GA – Mr. Leon Joseph Cominsky, 55, entered into rest on Sunday, June 12, 2016.

A mass of Christian burial will be held at 3:00 PM on Thursday, June 16, 2016 at St. Teresa of Avila Catholic Church in Grovetown, GA with Rev. Michael Ingram serving as celebrant. Entombment to follow at Bellevue Memorial Gardens Mausoleum.

Lee, a native of Syracuse, NY having made Martinez, GA his home for the past ten years, served in the U.S. Army with the 101st Airborne Division at Fort Campbell, Kentucky. He earned college degrees in music and was recognized with highest music awards from the U.S. Armed Forces School of Music Joint Expeditionary Base in Virginia Beach. An accomplished musician, Lee performed in the Army Corp band, with Dunes and the Deltunes in Syracuse, and as an entertainer on cruise ships for the last 10 years. He was an accomplished vocalist, guitarist, percussionist, and pianist. Lee cherished being a professional entertainer and music was his passion in life.

Lee is survived by his mother, Felicia Messina Cominsky of Martinez; a son, Leon J. Cominsky, Jr. (fiancé Melissa Sardella) and granddaughter Liliana Elyse Cominsky of Syracuse, NY; his sisters, Dr. Shelley Mishoe (Kenneth) of Virginia Beach, VA, and Sandra Hightower Black of Martinez; and nephews, Wesley Mishoe (Lauren), Thomas Hightower, Jeffrey Mishoe (Susan Davis).

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday evening, June 15, 2016 from 7:00 until 9:00 PM.
