Lee Carmichael Evans, 43, of Evans, GA, passed away on Monday, November 3, 2025, in Augusta, GA.
A memorial service will be at 11:00 AM Saturday, November 8, 2025 at Wesley United Methodist Church in Evans with Rev. Lindsey Solomon, associate pastor, officiating. Arrangements are by Platt Funeral Home of Evans and Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors of Pampa, TX.
Lee was born May 18, 1982, in Amarillo, TX to Doug and Sara Carmichael. She was a 2000 graduate of Pampa High School and received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Art from the University of Mississippi in 2004. She then did post-graduate work in London at Christie’s Auction House learning art appraisal. Lee then earned her Master’s in Education from American Intercontinental University.
Lee married Dr. John Willis (Will) Evans IV on June 13, 2009, in Breckenridge, CO. The two lived in Tacoma, WA; Colorado Springs, CO; Temple, TX; and Grand Forks, ND before moving to Evans, GA in 2021. Lee and Will were the parents of two daughters, Elizabeth, born in 2014, and Katherine, born in 2016.
Lee will be remembered most of all for being a loving wife and mother, a talented artist, a devoted friend, and a person with an unparalleled sense of humor.
She is survived by her husband, Dr. Will Evans of the home; two daughters, Elizabeth and Katherine; her parents Doug and Sara Carmichael of Aiken, SC; her sister Ann Harter and husband Eric of Arlington, VA; paternal grandmother Virginia Carmichael of Dallas, TX; father-and mother-in-law Dr. John and Amy Evans of Breckenridge, CO; sister-in-law Laurie Evans of Weaverville, NC; niece Grace Harter of Arlington, VA; nephew Joseph Lamb of Weaverville, NC; aunts Ann Holloway and husband John of Dallas, TX and Genny Harris and husband Ron of Arlington, TX; and uncle Nate Lee of Redondo Beach, CA.
She was preceded in death by maternal grandparents Dr. Frank and Mary Ann Lee, paternal grandfather Bob R. Carmichael, and sister-in-law Margaret Evans.
