William Kenneth “Ken” Bame, Jr., 73, entered into rest on January 26, 2023.
Funeral services will be held at 3:00 PM on Tuesday, February 7, 2023 at Platt’s Belair Chapel with Chaplain Dexter Lambert officiating. Interment to follow at Westover Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 1:00 PM until service time.
Ken was born in Gastonia, NC on February 4, 1949. He graduated from Butler High School in 1967. Ken was a former Lead Operator at Kimberly-Clark. He was also a Training Manual Writer for Kimberly-Clark in Jenks, OK and Villa St. Ettiene, France. Ken retired and enjoyed going to the Kimberly-Clark retiree luncheons (which he helped coordinate). He also loved Civil War history and Corvettes.
Ken was an avid golfer and bowler and was very proud of his perfect 300 games and rings.
Ken was preceded in death by his father, William K. Bame, Sr.; his mother, Ottie Lutrell England Bame Howard and his second wife, Hazel Ann Bame.
Ken is survived by his three daughters, Wendi Bame Couture (Chris), Kelli Bame Doyen (Andy) and Lauri Bame Theis (Matt); his brother, Michael Paul Bame (Pat); his sister, Marilyn Kathy LeRoy (Joseph); his fiancé, Cheryl Colley; and Mark and Brian Stewart whom Ken loved like his own sons; 9 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; as well as nieces, nephews and many friends.
Pallbearers will be Alan Wyatt, Ron McKneely, Brian Stewart, Chris Couture, Matt Theis, Mark Stewart, Gary Hallman, Adam Newman, Rick Gaillard and Scott Ravenscroft.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that donations be made to Kitty Konnection at kittykonnection.org.
