Julian Lee Humes

April 15, 2023 — August 29, 2023

Julian Lee Humes died peacefully in his mother’s and father’s arms on August 29th, 2023. He was born on April 15th, 2023 and spent his short life in the NICU at Children’s Hospital of Georgia and Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta. Although we are devastated by his loss, we feel blessed to have known him, held him, and to have seen him smile. We will always remember him for his unbelievable strength and fight. He was a feisty little red-head, and gosh, was he cute. He fought so hard and inspired so many in his short life.

Julian is survived by his parents Ross and Katie Humes; his brothers Grant (4) and Brady (2) Humes; his Uncle Garrett Humes and Aunt Danelle Gagliardi, and Aunt Maggie Morrison; his grandparents Jeff and Elaine Humes and Vernon and Jennifer Morrison; and his great-grandparents John and Shirley Humes, MarJeanne Taulbee, and Nancy Sohner; as well as numerous others who loved him.

A celebration of his life will be held at Kilbourne United Methodist Church in Kilbourne, Ohio, on Friday, September 8th, 2023 at 3pm. Despite the immense sadness we feel, we ask that all those in attendance choose to wear colorful and happy outfits. Ross will be wearing a polo shirt with colorful dinosaurs on it, for reference. Our kids will be joining us for this informal service, and we encourage all those in attendance to bring their own children, as well.

In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta, Children’s Hospital of Georgia, and/or the Ronald McDonald House in Julian’s honor. We are so grateful to the numerous nurses and doctors who treated our baby as one of their own.
