Mrs. Joyce Waldo, 75, of Evans, Georgia, entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, January 9, 2024. Mrs. Waldo, a native of Roanoke, Virginia, and a graduate of Longwood University was a lifelong teacher in Virginia and the Augusta area. She was an active member of the Church of the Holy Comforter and involved in many church activities at both the Church of Our Savior and the Church of the Holy Comforter where she served on the Altar Guild, Sunday School and Confirmation Class teacher, Youth Christian Education Committee, and Daughters of the King. Also, she was a dedicated volunteer at various organizations across the Augusta area including at Doctors Hospital, Regency Hospice, Meals on Wheels, amongst others. Her passions were reading and helping others.
In addition to her husband Loren, she is survived by her sister, Sue Mendenhall of Martinez, and her two sons, Loren “Skip” Waldo and wife, Melanie of Richmond Hill, Georgia, Todd Waldo and wife, Lundy of Frisco, Texas, and four grandchildren, Camden, Jackson, Miles, and Piper.
The family would like to thank all that provided exceptional end of life care for Mrs. Waldo including Doctors Hospital, Brandon Wilde, and Trinity Hospice.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, March 16 at 11:00 am at the Church of the Holy Comforter, Augusta, Georgia with the Rev. Glenn Palmer officiating.
The family will receive friends at the Church of the Holy Comforter immediately following the service and a reception will be held at the church to celebrate her life.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Church of the Holy Comforter, 437 Furys Ferry Road, Martinez, Georgia 30907.
