Joseph Lynn Patrick, 74, entered into rest on Saturday, July 20, 2024.
Joseph is survived by his beloved wife, Linda; son Nathan Patrick (Andrea); grandchildren Lorelai, Sloane, and Jolene; brother Michael Patrick (Sandra); and sister Mary Spellings (Eugene). Preceding him in death are his parents David and Margaret Patrick; and brother Thomas Patrick.
Joe was proud to have grown up on a farm in Mercer, TN. He was proud to have been a Mason for 53 years. He was proud to have served his country as an Army Ranger. He was proud to have been known as “Magic”, the man who could fix anything during his 27 years of employment at Augusta Newsprint. But most of all, Joe was proud of his family and to be called “PawPaw” by his granddaughters.
To know “Joe, Joe Patrick” was to be loved by WB4RGO (Joe’s ham radio call sign). He welcome everyone with open arms…because he always wanted a hug or two! Joe was a talented bluegrass musician and the life of the party when he gathered family and friends to play music.
Like a good southern man, Joe loved Jesus, his dogs (Lucy, Jet, and Bear), and his family who he cared for so well.
A Celebration of Joe’s Life will be held 12:00 PM Sunday, July 28, 2024 at Platt’s Funeral Home, Belair Chapel, Minister Frank Hester officiating. The family will receive friends two hours prior to the service.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital at stjude.org
