Born on March 25, 1947, in Augusta, Georgia, Joe lived a life rich with experiences and surrounded by the people he loved most.

Joe served honorably in the United States Army during the Vietnam War, a testament to his dedication and commitment to his country. After returning from service, he went on to pursue a bachelor’s degree and established a successful career in Human Resources in the energy field. His professional life was marked by a strong work ethic and a sincere desire to help others, traits that endeared him to colleagues and friends alike.

Joe was known for his warm heart and generosity. He was a good friend to all who knew him, always ready to lend a helping hand or offer a listening ear. One of his greatest joys in life was cooking, and he had a talent for bringing people together through the meals he prepared. For the past ten years, Joe spent his days in Boca Raton, Florida, one of his favorite places, where he found solace on the beach, soaking in the sun and enjoying the company of loved ones. A funeral service will be held on October 4, 2025, at 1:00 PM at Platt Funeral Home, 337 North Belair Road, Evans, GA. The burial will follow at Westover Cemetery, Augusta, GA.. Family will receive friends on Saturday, October 4, 2025, from 11:00 AM until the time of service 1:00 PM at the funeral home where all are invited to come together to honor Joe’s life and legacy, sharing stories and celebrating the beautiful person he was.
