John Lewis Robertson, 71, of Augusta, Georgia, passed away peacefully at his residence on July 18, 2025.

“Born at an early age” on August 15, 1953, in Augusta, Lewis was the son of Mary Lynn O’Tyson.

“As a wee lad,” Lewis worked at National Hills Theater, National Hills Pharmacy and Imperial Theater. He later joined Local Union 150 and worked as a pipefitter until his retirement. In his retired years, Lewis devoted himself to helping others. Whether working on the farm or volunteering at nearby baseball fields, prepping them for play or cleaning up after games, Lewis was a constant reliable presence. To know Lewis was to know that you had someone there for you anytime you called on him.

Lewis is preceded in death by his mother, Mary Lynn O’Tyson; his stepfather, Lewis O’Tyson; and his brother, Lance E. O’Tyson.

He is survived by his “favorite son,” Allen Robertson (Kelli), his “favorite daughter,” Laura Robertson (Chris Wilson); his beloved grandchildren - Campbell, Allie Drake, Ella Brian, Kord and Carter - and his brothers, Billy Robertson (Terry), Warren Robertson (Edie), Tony O’Tyson (Cathy), step-sisters, Rita Whitfield (Duane), Valerie Hixon (Robbie) and Jean Knight (Billy) along with numerous nieces and nephews.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Tommy Capers, Mike Rogers, Matt Childers, Gerald Barnes, Jerry Hunter, Scott McClintock and Bruce Poole. Additional honorary pallbearers will be his brothers and sisters of Plumbers and Steamfitters Local Union 150.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Complete Game, 3855 Washington Road, Martinez, Georgia 30907.

Visitation will be 11:00am, Saturday, July 26, 2025, at Central Christian Church, 220 Crawford Avenue, Augusta, Georgia 30904.

Funeral services will be held immediately following visitation at Central Christian Church, 220 Crawford Avenue, Augusta, Georgia 30904 with the Rev. Milton Summerall officiating.
