Joel P. Reverend Borchelt

Evans.GA- Rev. Joel P. Borchelt, age 56, husband of Mrs. Debra F.
(Schipull) Borchelt, entered into rest at his residence on Wednesday, February 25, 2009.

A memorial service will be held on Monday, March 2, 2009 at the Lutheran Church of the Resurrection at 10:30 a.m. with Reverend David Hunter officiating.

Joel was a Lutheran Pastor who received his Master of Divinity from Christ Seminary in St. Louis, MO. He was a Parish Pastor for twenty years serving churches in Minnesota and Iowa, and Advent Lutheran Church in Augusta,GA. He then worked as a Church Consultant with Kairos Ministries for the past eleven years.

Additional survivors include, his mother, Sarah Borchelt of Cape Girardeau, MO; one son, 2nd Lt. Peter J. Borchelt USAF, Del Rio,TX; one daughter, Mrs. Ruth E. (Jason) Barta, Del Rio,TX; two brothers, Ben J. ( Carol) Borchelt, Rockville, MD,and Paul D. ( Bernadette) Borchelt of Richland, MO; and one sister, Margaret (John) Horn of Davenport,IA.

Joel was preceded in death by his father, Benjamin A. Borchelt.

The family will receive friends Sunday, March 1, 2009 from 4:00 until 6:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
