Jeffrey Edwin Hayes

Jeff passed away in the late hours of Friday, March 15, 2024. He is survived by his son, Gavin Malachi Hayes of Wilmington, NC, and his brother Andrew Mettler Hayes (Emily, Quinn) of Littleton, CO. He was predeceased by his parents, John Flynn Hayes and Karen Mettler Hayes, both of Augusta, GA. Jeff received his BS and MBA both from Johnson and Wales University. Jeff’s love for cooking and managing the kitchen was evident in his many jobs at fine-dining restaurants in Tybee Island, Charlotte, Wilmington and Augusta. He had the opportunity to cook for professional athletes as well as actors and actresses during stints in Charlotte and Wilmington. Jeff was also an avid lover of the water (swimming, fishing and boating), music, reading, playing games and the occasional beer brewing. He was a loving father, son and brother and will live on in our memories.
