Jean Randall Strickland

Mrs. Jean Randall Strickland, wife of the late Ollie Strickland, entered into rest on Thursday October 28, 2021 at age 82.

A native of Augusta, Ga, she was born on October 6, 1939 to parents William Henry Pardue and Eloise Johnson Pardue. A nurse and breast cancer survivor, she volunteered the gift of her time to the American Red Cross. She will be remembered by her family most for her sense of humor. She was a passionate and competitive Bingo player, and also enjoyed painting, sewing, and crossword puzzles, of which her family was proud to mention her ability to complete in pen.

She is survived by her daughter Vicki Owen; son John Stratton Jr (Kimberly); twin sister Joan Gilliland; brother William “Bubba” Pardue Jr (Beverly); grandchildren Charles Ryan Stratton (Shelby), William Rhett Stratton (Bethany), Russell Paul Stratton, Ariel Owen Roberts (Cody), Jacob V. Owen (Destinee); and great grandchildren William Rhett Stratton Jr, John Michael James Stratton, Chloe Ariel Owen, Brody Owen Roberts, Cayden Burch, and Caroline Burch. In addition to her husband and parents, she is predeceased by her beloved feline companion, Teddy.

A celebration of her life will be held on Friday, November 5, 2021 at 2:00 pm at Platt’s Funeral Home, Belair Road. The family will receive friends an hour prior to the service.
