James Randall Scott, Sr.

James Randall Scott, Sr., 84, entered into rest on April 3, 2024.

Graveside services will be held at 2:30 PM on Saturday, April 6, 2024 at West View Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Platt’s Crawford Avenue from 12:00 PM until 2:00 PM.

Mr. Scott was born in Augusta to the late Howard and Dorothy Hunnicutt Scott. He was a “Harrisburger” through and through. He was proud of his large group of lifelong friends, and of his Augusta history. He was the best dad, “Papadaddy” and friend. He was known for his quick sense of humor, and for always having a witty comeback.

Mr. Scott is survived by his daughter, Kathy Beasley; his granddaughter, Gracie Beasley; his surrogate daughter, Prissy Cronk; his surrogate granddaughter, Hannah Altman; his daughter-in-love, Nancy Seitz (Wayne); his cousins Bruce Thompson, Sonny Scott, and Betty Williams. He was preceded in death by Delores Thompson; his son, Jamie Scott; and his cousins, Faye Thompson, Jimmie Aldredge and Anne Turner.
