Jackson "Jack" Usry

Jackson “Jack” Usry, beloved husband of Edna Land Usry, entered into rest on Saturday, July 10, 2021.

A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, July 13, 2021 at 11:00 am in The Sanctuary in Evans, GA with Rev. Bryan Cockrell officiating. Interment will be private. Family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to the service time.

Jack grew up in Augusta and graduated from Richmond Academy. He was a veteran serving in the US Air Force. To prepare himself for his life’s work he earned a degree in computer programing at Augusta Technical College. and entered the workplace in that profession and later as a billing manager for Augusta Richmond County. He was Chairman of the Board the Community of Mental Health, a board member of the Richmond County Coliseum Authority, member of the Augusta Jaycees, and legislative aide to Rep. Henry Howard. He was a former member of Lake Park Baptist Church and Trinity On The Hill United Methodist Church and member of The Sanctuary in Evans, GA.

In addition to his beloved wife, Edna. He is also survived by his son, Jackson “Jacob” Usry II, his brother, Harry E. Usry Jr. and his sister, Janet Hooks.
