Herman Roger Lord, Jr

Herman “Roger” Lord, Jr , 68, beloved husband of Elaine Fox Lord, died Tuesday, November 8, 2022 at his home in Evans, GA.

Roger, born in Waynesboro, GA, was the son of the late Herman Roger Lord and Kathryn Pendergrass Lord. He was the co-owner of SFC Contract Services. He was a member of the Georgia Carolina Boat & Ski Club, Columbia County Merchants Association, and a retired member of Ironworker Local 709. He served on the Gallery Guards Committee of the Masters Tournament for 18 years.

Survivors, in addition to his wife Elaine, include two sons; Herman Roger “Trey” Lord III (Magon), Evans, GA and Chance Elliott Lord of Denver, CO; brother Pat Lord of Keysville, GA; sister Katy Stanley (Robert) of Sudan, TX; granddaughters Kendall and Emma; many nieces and nephews and his loyal dog Baylee.

The family would like to express their thanks to the doctors and staff at the Georgia Cancer Center and AU Medical Center for their dedicated and compassionate care.

Family will receive friends for visitation from 3-5pm on Saturday, November 12, 2022 at Platt’s Funeral Home in Evans, Ga. Funeral services will be held at 1:30pm on Sunday, November 13, 2022 at Platt’s Funeral Home, Belair Chapel, Evans. Interment to follow at Bellevue Memorial Gardens. Mark Partridge, Vernon Wise, Dayton Sherrouse, Jeff Washington, Jeff Carter, Keith Dickey, Mel Parrish, Jack Mann, and Bobby Scarboro will serve as pallbearers.
