Henry Joseph Cashin

Henry Joseph Cashin, 95, entered into rest on October 2, 2021 at his family home.

A mass of Christian burial will be held at 1:00 PM on Saturday, October 16, 2021 at St. Mary on the Hill Catholic Church with Rev. Mark Ross serving as celebrant. Interment to follow in Westover Memorial Park. The family will receive friends in the church narthex beginning at 12:00 PM.

Henry was born on September 12, 1926 in Augusta, Georgia to Norma Markwalter Cashin and John Joseph Cashin, Jr. Henry was preceded in death by his parents, his brothers Jack Cashin and George Cashin and his sisters Carolyn Cashin, Lucille Cashin, and Mary Cashin Davis. He is survived by his sister Dorothy Cashin Kenefick of St. Cloud, Minnesota and many beloved nieces and nephews.

Henry attended Boys Catholic High School in Augusta and graduated in 1944.
After high school Henry joined the Navy and served for two years.
Returning home from the Navy he attended the University of Georgia and graduated with a degree in chemistry. Henry worked as a chemist in Greenville,
South Carolina and later as a chemist in New York City. He eventually returned home to Augusta where he remained for the rest of his years. He was a man of many interests including the law, real estate, and flying.

Henry enjoyed life and he enjoyed his family. He loved visits from friends and family. In his last years of life, when he was no longer able to go many places, those visits and phone calls were a blessing to him and brought him great joy. He had wonderful caretakers who took great care of him and doted over him. We thank them all for the kindness they showed him.
