Gladys Nave Williams

Gladys "Bitsy” Williams, 83 of Appling, Ga. peacefully went to be with our Lord and Savior on Dec. 15, 2025. Bitsy was born in Chattanooga, TN (Missionary Ridge) to Stephen Allen Williams, Jr and Gladys Nave Williams on Feb. 27, 1942. Bitsy worked as a Medical Secretary at MCG where she retired.

Bitsy was a member of West Acres Baptist Church. She sang in the choir which she loved dearly until her health made it impossible.

Bitsy passionately loved her family and her church. If you could make it to heaven on a family members love for the Lord, we all would be there. Bitsy is preceded in death by her parents, siblings, and her great grandson Luke.

Bitsy is survived by her children, Chuck Harwell (Lisa), Jennifer Harwell, Scott Harwell (Leslie), Grand children: Brandon Martin, Amanda Harwell (Jason), Eric Harwell (Jenny) Justin Hammond (Ashleigh), Adam Harwell, Quinton Hammond, Caitlin Avent (Kyle), Joshua Harwell (AK), Zachary Harwell (Olivia), Nicholas Harwell,

Great grandchildren, Kendyl, Trenton, Kaysen, Izzy, Aubreigh, Preslee, Oliver, Addie, Harlyn, Charlotte, Emerson, Bella, Locklyn, and Charlie.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to West Acres Baptist Church.

Visitation will be 3 pm until time of service, with a memorial service following at 4 pm Saturday, December 20, 2025 at Platt’s Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Malone Morris of West Acres Baptist Church officiating.

Burial will be in Forest Hills Cemetery in Chattanooga, TN at a later date.
