Geneva Louise Cumpton, 78, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend, of Harlem, passed away suddenly on Tuesday, July 28, 2026, following a tragic automobile accident in Dearing, Georgia. While her time with us was far too short, her life was filled with love, laughter, and unwavering devotion to those he held dear.
Geneva was born on April 1, 1948, to Elmer and Charlene Caudill in Hazard, Kentucky. She was one of ten children. Geneva and Jeff Cumpton have been happily married for 36 years.
Geneva loved her family deeply and was a devout Baptist. She was an avid collector; she loved antiques and going to garage sales.
She worked as a custodian for the Columbia County School District for 10 years.
Geneva is preceded in death by her parents, Elmer and Charlene Caudill; her brothers, Mike, Gene, Gary, Elmer Jr, and Timmy; and her sister, Cheryl.
Geneva is survived by loving husband, Jeff Cumpton; her three children, Ann Crabtree (David), Donnie Griffith (Tina), and Sammy Griffith; her brothers, Jessie; her sisters, Debbie and Lavita; her grandchildren, Jessica Griffith, Samantha Griffith, Jonathan Crabtree, Ryan Crabtree, Sammy Griffith Jr., and Tyler Griffith; her two great-grandchildren; and her two stepchildren, Josh Cumpton and Stephanie Cumpton.
