Frankie Moore Wilensky

February 26, 1938 — April 12, 2022

Frankie Wilensky departed this world to be with the Lord on April 12, 2022.

Graveside services will be held at 11:30 AM on Saturday, April 16, 2022 at Westover Memorial Park with the Rev. Dr. J. Andrew Menger officiating.

She was a native of Augusta, Ga along with a majority of her family members. Her past history is full of beautiful memories as a young lady at Sacred Heart singing the Ava Maria, as one of the top ten candidates on the ARC Sabre Court, and as a lady doing civic work with the Jaycees. She was a vital part on projects that supported the children at Gracewood and the military soldiers at Fort Gordon. She was a mother of two children who came first before all other activities. Frankie enjoyed years of being a very important part as past president of the Spade and Trowel Garden Club where she helped the club win several state awards.

She was a long-time employee with Rich’s department store where she had a ministry all her own. Her death helped her family fully understand the huge impact she had on so many people’s lives. She worked in the departments of Linens, China, and Furniture. She helped so many in Augusta navigate their lives getting married, divorced, and widowed. She was a talented interior designer with so many clients that wanted to tell their stories. When Frankie finished her work at Rich’s, she enjoyed her days with her beloved husband Dr. Leonard Wilensky. They had an amazing relationship of love and respect. These two had a marriage that could only be described as a fairytale to the very end. They had many years working together at Dr Wilensky’s office. Leonard and Frankie had a mission helping those in need of eyewear. These two beloved people were a team, and they were known to be kind and generous to others in the community. They were both supporters of the St Jude Children’s Hospital.

Frankie is preceded in death by her husband of 26 years, Dr. Leonard Wilensky. She is survived by her two children: Dr. Don C. Neal (Beverly) Daphne, AL; Mrs Amanda Neal Acree (Rick) N Augusta, SC; three grandchildren: Crichton Neal (Genevieve) Daphne, AL; Forrest Neal (Mindy) Pensacola, FL; Miss Alexandra Acree, Charlotte, NC., and great grandchildren, Asher Neal and Collins Neal of Daphne, AL; her brother, Joseph T. Francis III, Martinez, GA and nephews, Joseph T. Francis, IV, and Nicholas B. Francis.

The family would like to thank the following for their loving care: Laurie Bennett RN, Cynthia Merriweather, Linda Jackson, Diane Boyd, Keishia Simpkins, and Homestead Hospice: Sydneye Youngner, RN and Latisha White, RN.
