Faye Olga (Thompson) Larson was born on April 30, 1929 at University Hospital in Augusta. She was born a preemie baby at a time when they seldom survived. She was a fighter and she DID survive. The youngest of six surviving children of Robert and Florence Thompson, she was predeceased by all of them and their spouses. She was the wife of Calvin L. Larson, who passed way in 1987, and the mother of Mary and Brenda and grandmother of Will and Madeline.
As an army wife, she lived through World War II, Korea, and Vietnam. That knowledge and understanding of military life only helped her in her employment with the VA, where she helped drug and alcohol abuse patients. She was spirited and opinionated but also had a kind heart. She was often the caretaker for ailing family members throughout her life. She loved to dance, travel, and read until declining health took those joys away from her. On October 7, she was set free from her failing body and mind.
The family will hold a private service on October 10, 2020.
