In Loving Memory of Evelyn Gail Lawrence.
With profound sadness and deep love, we announce the passing of Gail Lawrence, who went home to be with her Lord and Savior on June 13 2026, at the age of 78.
Gail lived a life defined by faith, compassion, and selfless service to others. She dedicated 51 years to nursing, caring for countless patients with kindness, skill, and a servant's heart. Nursing was more than a profession to her; it was a calling, and she touched the lives of many through her unwavering commitment to helping others.
Her faith was the foundation of her life. Gail was a devoted member of Abilene Baptist Church for more than 20 years, where she faithfully worshiped, served, and built lasting friendships within her church family.
Above all else, Gail cherished her family. She loved the Lord with all her heart and found her greatest joy in her daughter, grandchildren, and great-grandchild. She was a source of strength, wisdom, and unconditional love, always offering encouragement, prayers, and a listening ear. Her family was her pride and joy and the memories she created with them will be treasured forever.
She is survived by her beloved daughter, Teresa Pate (Chris); her loving grandchildren, Lauren Brown (Todd); Jayden Pate, Kristen Pate; her precious great-grand child, Ellie Leigh; a sister; Deloris (Peewee) Carr, and brother; Jimmy Carr.
She was preceded in death by two sisters; Anne Miller and Katherline Johnson.
Though our hearts are broken by her loss, we find comfort in knowing that Gail's faith has become sight and that she is now at peace in the presence of the Lord she loved so dearly.
"Well done, good and faithful servant." – Matthew 25:23
