Ms. Eva Pearl Brame, 89, of Martinez, Georgia was best known as “Pearl”. Ms. Pearl entered eternal rest on Sunday, August 9, 2026, in the company of her devoted daughter.

Ms. Pearl was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania to William and Virginia Johnson on 1 May 1937. She attended and graduated from the Philadelphia Public School System in 1954. She was an avid reader, loved all kinds of music, and played the cello as well as the keyboard. She enjoyed horseback riding, gardening and cooking. She served as a volunteer for the Angel Food Ministry and crocheted head dressings in support of the Augusta Lydia Group, who assists women with cancer. Ms. Pearl was married to the late Russell Stewart in Philadelphia, PA. She worked many years as a Nursing Assistant at Philadelphia General Hospital (PGH), where she was selected for a program where she earned her certification as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN). Ms. Pearl continued to work at PGH for more than 30 years. Ms. Pearl relocating to Martinez, Ga in 2002 to be closer to her daughter and primary caregiver. She became a member of Whole Life Ministries pastored by Doctor Sandra Kennedy. There she accepted the Lord Jesus Christ and enjoyed studying His Word. In 2022, joined Faith Outreach Church(FOC), West Campus pastored by Doctors Richard B. and Janice Peoples. It was at FOC where she continued to grow and mature in the things of God.

Ms. Pearl is preceded in death by her parents William and Virginia Johnson. She is survived by her son Russell and his wife Jannie Stewart and her devoted daughter Cris Hightower. She also leaves grandchildren Avery, Russel, Shantel, Robert and four great grandchildren. Three sisters Beatrice Youngblood, Baltimore MD, Elizabeth Anderson and Catherine Johnson both of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and a host of nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held at 1130 AM, Saturday, August 15, 2026 at Faith Outreach Church (South Campus) 2664 Willis Foreman Road, Hephzibah Georgia 30815, (706) 792-9972. Special Thanks to Doctors Richard B. and Janice Peoples as well as the entire Faith Outreach Church Family. Also, special thanks to CSM (Ret.) Gail Denning of Lufkin, Texas, COL (Ret.) Mildred Ammons of Whole Life Ministries, Doctors DaJia Kingof Nashville, Tennessee all of whom played pivotal roles in the ongoing care and support of our mother over many years. Thanks also to Dr. Shireen Moore of the Evans Center for Primary Care as well as the staff of Thrive Assisted Living and SouthEast Hospice Augusta.
