Mrs. Esther Young Mewihsen
Augusta – Mrs. Esther Young Mewihsen, 96, widow of the late Victor Mewhisen, entered into rest on Friday, January 2, 2015 at University Hospital.
Graveside services will be held at 11:00AM on Friday, January 9, 2015 at Westover Memorial Park with Deacon Ken Maleck officiating.
Mrs. Mewihsen is survived by her four nephews, Francis W. Young of Vero Beach, FL; Edward J. Young of Micco; FL, James A. Young of Vero Beach, FL and James C. Young of GA.
Mrs. Mewihsen attended the University of GA and obtained a Journalism Degree. She received the Associated Press Writing Award from the Augusta Chronical and also was a Free Lance writer for the Washington Post. Mrs. Mewihsen has been credited with a couple of published books. She also was an Antique Dealer of Books and Artifacts.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday morning from 9:30 until 10:30 AM.
