Elsie Edenfield Ivey

Elsie Ivey, a life-long resident of Augusta, GA, entered into rest peacefully while at home on July 28, 2022 at the age of 82.

Mrs. Ivey is survived by her son, Walter Eugene Ivey, Jr. (Laura Flynn-Ivey), her brothers, Billy Edenfield (Julie) and Chris Edenfield (Donna), 4 grandchildren, and 4 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband, Walter E. Ivey, Sr., their daughter, Lynn Golden (Donald), and her brothers, Jimmie Edenfield (Jean) and Charles Edenfield (Margie).

Elsie Edenfield Ivey (born Elsie Laverne Edenfield) was born June 23, 1940 in Augusta, GA to J.C. and Geneva Edenfield. She was the oldest of 5 children. Mrs. Ivey enjoyed singing in the choir at church, being a Sunday school teacher, fishing with her husband, spending time with her family, and sewing. She was a devoted wife to Walter E. Ivey, Sr. for 57 years until his death in 2016.

Graveside Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 PM on Monday, August 1st, 2022 in the West View Cemetery officiated by Rev. William “Bill” Harrell.

Platt’s Funeral Home located at 337 N. Belair Rd. Evans, GA 30809 is assisting the family with the services.
