Our son, Dylin “Bubby” Musgrove, 21, went home to be with Jesus on Sunday November 16th, in Augusta, GA.
Bubby was the adored son of Cat and Patrick Winter, the beloved brother and best friend to Danee Thomas and her husband Carter, and the treasured bonus brother of Max and Ben Winter.
He had an associate’s degree from Toccoa Falls College then immediately pursued his true passion of helping others. He entered the Richmond County Fire Department and spent the rest of his short life serving others in the best way he could.
Bubby was known for taking in any stray he could find, whether it be animal, reptile, or person who needed a little extra family. He felt everyone and everything deserved love and he handed it out daily.
We, the family, ask that you hold on to all your memories of Bubby and continue to share them. His charisma, kindness, and genuine charm made him loved by all who met him, from five-year-olds to fifty-five-year-olds, to ninety-five-year-olds. To meet Bub was to know him and love him.
He loved scaring his mama, listening to heavy metal with his dad, and reminding his sister that she was the center of his universe. His animals meant the world to him and his dog, Best Friend Finch is grieving alongside us.
Bub ran across parking lots in the rain to help strangers load their groceries, he picked up trash any time he saw it, he danced with his mama in the grocery store if a good song came on, he wanted to learn everything about music and bands from his dad, he tried out all the sports, and learned some of eight languages – he just wanted to try everything - and he was magnetic in a way I’ve never known someone to be.
Everyone wanted to be around his energy and his enthusiasm.
Bub was a light in this world, and we feel the deep darkness without it. He will be missed in an immeasurable way.
We have heard so many stories of his enthusiasm, bravery, and determination from his brothers at the department and we are proud beyond measure. It was his dream. He worked his tail off to get there and wanted to continue a legacy of helping others.
In lieu of flowers, our family is setting up a memorial to ensure his legacy and his desire to help others continues on for many years to come.
Come see Bub in a way that would bring him joy. Wear your funny t-shirts, your dog shirts, your heavy metal or band clothes, or anything purple.
Visitation will be Friday, November 21st at 10:00 am at Journey Community Church, 4798 Hardy McManus Road, Evans, GA, 30809 Services to immediately follow at Journey.
