Dorris Faye Dudgeon Andrews passed away peacefully on February 25, 2026 in Evans, Georgia at the age of 102. She was born in Rushville, IN on August 27, 1923 to Robert and Mabel Dudgeon. After graduating from Rushville High School, she attended Ball State University where she met the love of her life, Bob Andrews. They married on July 17, 1944, and remained devoted to each other for 66 years until Bob’s death in 2011. Dorris made her home and raised her family in Chicago Heights, IL. There, she was an active member of the First Presbyterian Church and an active member of Presbyterian Women. Bob and Dorris moved to Marietta, GA in 1980 where they became active members at the First Presbyterian Church, Marietta.

Dorris was an accomplished bridge player and an excellent cook. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting, quilting and being “Grandma” to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, especially during Christmas. Her homemade cinnamon rolls and popovers were traditional Christmas morning fare. Dorris was an avid fan of crossword puzzles, the Chicago Cubs and ”March Madness”, particularly rooting for the University of Indiana Hoosiers.

Dorris is survived by two daughters, Susan Andrews (Margie Beall) of Newton, MA and Elaine Andrews Lea (Jimmy Lea) of Martinez, GA, 7 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband Dr. H. Robert Andrews, her son Robert Thomas Andrews and her daughter Jennifer Andrews Shook (Bob Shook).

Dorris’ wit, laughter, and joy of life will be missed. At 102, she leaves behind a remarkable legacy of love, resilience, and wisdom that will continue to guide her family for generations.
