Evans, GA – On Thursday, January1, 2015 Dorothy “MaMa Dot” Postell began her eternal walk with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, January 5, 2015 at 1:00PM at West Acres Baptist Church with the Pastor Larry C. Harmon officiating. Mrs. Postell will lie in state from 12 noon until the hour of service at the church. Interment to follow in Bellevue Memorial Gardens.
MaMa Dot was a Godly, loving wife, mother, and friend to all that knew her. She was married to her “darling” husband Alvin “Papa” Postell for 66 years. They had many cherished moments together. MaMa Dot attended West Acres Baptist Church where her and Papa were chartered members. She was actively involved serving in the nursery which she dearly loved, she also enjoyed traveling with the college and career Sunday School Class. MaMa Dot looked forward to fellowshipping with the Love Sunday School Class and Seniors. She served as Chairperson for the Columbia County Merchants Fair Pageant for over 35 years. MaMa Dot always shared with everyone, “The Lord loves me more than anyone”. MaMa Dot will be greatly missed by all her family and friends but she is now wrapped in the Lord’s arms. There will only be one MaMa Dot and one Papa Alvin that loved her.
In addition to her husband, Mrs. Postell is survived by her three sons, Greg Postell, Derrell (Donna) Postell, and Tony (Donna) Postell; a daughter, Debbie ( David) Huguenin; two brothers, Ricky (Ann) Mays, and Billy (Margie ) Mays; her grandchildren, Ashlee Postell, Amie Postell, Stephanie Huguenin, Patrick Huguenin, Mandy Postell, Becky (Garrett) Black, Justin Postell, Bailey Postell, and Cael Postell; and also seven great grandchildren, Abby Black, Brett Black, Carsyn Black, Brady Black, Andrew Black, Parker Fox and Gunner Vaiden.
A special thank you to Tonya Dent and Tricia Wright, your dedication and compassion will be remembered always. Their love, devotion, and care for MaMa Dot will never be forgotten from Papa and her children.
Pallbearers will be Richard Fender, Bobby Herrington, Mike Zapata, Dennis Hobbs, Bill Easler, and Phil Alexander.
Honorary pallbearers will be the members of the Columbia County Merchants Association and the Love Sunday School Class of West Acres Baptist Church.

The family will receive friends Sunday, January 4, 2015 from the hours of 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm at the funeral home.
