Dale King Vaughn

Mrs. Dale King Vaughn, beloved wife of Jerry Vaughn, entered into rest on Thursday, June 12, 2025.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Monday, June 16, 2025 in the Belair Road chapel of Platts Funeral home with the Rev. Steve Gallop and Rev. Johnny Rogers officiating. The family will receive friends two hours prior to the service, starting at 12:00. Burial will follow at Bellevue Memorial Gardens.

Dale was one of three children born in Jackson, Mississippi to the late Fred and Edna King. She met the love of her life, Jerry, and they were married almost 59 years ago. She helped him to grow his business as a homebuilder, often using her skills as a decorator to show off his model homes. She was a Christian, and until her illness made it difficult, she was a regular attendee of Grace Baptist Church.

She’ll be remembered as a devoted wife and loving mother and Nana.

In addition to her husband, Jerry, she is survived by her daughter, Kimberly Vaughn Fairey (Richard), her grandchildren, Gabrielle Fairey and Caroline Fairey, a brother, David King (Cynthia) and a sister, Joann Roland (Lee). She’s also survived by her nieces and nephews, Jeff Roland (April), Scott Roland, Ashleigh Sutphin (Daniel) and Kerri Bearss (Dan), her great niece, Baylee, her great nephews, Hunter and Blake and her precious fur baby, Coco.

She was preceded in death by her daughter, Shannon Nicole “Nikki” Vaughn and her granddaughter, Lola Grace Fairey.

Pallbearers will be Jeff Roland, Scott Roland, Hunter Roland, Blake Roland, Ron Cauthon, Rob Zapata and Marc Simmons.
