Corey Tristan Holland Elson

MARTINEZ, Ga. - Corey Tristan Holland Elson, son of Patricia Lee Holland Elson, went to be with "Our Lord" on Sunday, April 25, 2010 at 06:30 AM. A military honored memorial service was held at 6:00 PM on Saturday, May 1, 2010 at Platt's Belair Road Chapel. Reverend David Keener officiated who also holy baptized him at Corey's request at Christ The King Lutheran Church, Evans, GA on 01/03/1999. Corey was delivered October 15, 1987 at Northside Hospital, Atlanta, GA by Peter J Ulbrich, MD, a dear cherished friend. Corey spent most of his life in the Martinez-Evans-Augusta, GA area. Corey was active in the Boy Scouts and later joined the ROTC program at Lakeside High School, Evans from where he graduated in 2006. He was an E-3 in the U.S. Air Force awaiting his assignment in mechanical engineering. Corey played basketball for the Col Co Rec Center & also played point guard for different churches. He was both an avid car mechanic and a salt & fresh water fisherman; bowled most Saturday nights; golfed frequently; is pictured in many various newspaper articles & advertisements; excelled in camping skills, mathematics, ice & roller skating, skate & snow boarding, swimming, cycling, and running. Corey was a kind, generous, loving, caring, & loyal friend to so many; his human journey was to "Serve the world, Love God, and Love people". He is greatly missed by everyone who knew him. In addition to his mother, Corey is survived by his adopted father 12/24/1996 Charles William Elson, II (Martinez); his great-grandmother Virginia L Holland (OH); his grandfathers David J Holland (GA) & Charles William Elson I {Laura} (OK); his grandmothers Jenny G Holland (Martinez) & Marion Elson (NV); his step-sister Monica L Elson (CA); his fiancée "Ally" Shaver Davis (Martinez); his aunts Ginny Carver {Alan} (SC); Sharon C H Mitchell (Atlanta); Charlene Summers {Keith} (NV); Bonnie G H Goldman {Joe} (SC); Vicki E Dickinson {Rob} (Evans); and Pam C Sale {Ken} (SC); his uncles Eric J Holland {Carol Brown} (GA); Michael D Holland (Martinez); Alex J Holland {Amanda Pitts} (Athens), and Richard E Elson (CA). His godparents are James E Kealey, Jr & Ann M Cagle Fitzgerald of Atlanta. Further survivors are his immediate cousins Krystina Holland-Kelley {Lance}; Anthony Holland; Jonathon Chambers {Beth}; Christian Carver {Kristen Braxton}; Cameron Carver; Zackary Chambers {Katy}; Joshua Dickinson; Sarah Holland {Brad Day}; Emily Holland; Mike Merkley {Ashley}; and Sarah & Danny Summers; and second cousins Aerith, Aiden, Audrey, Landon, Hayden, and Sophia.
