Chesley R. "Buster" Parrish, Sr.

Chesley R. “Buster” Parrish, Sr., 88, of Martinez, GA went to be with the Lord on December 15, 2023.

He was born in Augusta, GA to Chesley and Edna Parrish on May 31, 1935. He graduated from Academy of Richmond County (ARC) in 1954. He married Sylvia Fuller Parrish in 1956 and celebrated 53 years of marriage until her passing in 2009.

Buster was a business owner – working in various food sales and service areas. He has been attending Warren Baptist Church since childhood even serving as a Deacon. He was involved with Gideons International and was known to all as a family man.

He is survived by his daughter, Marcia Parrish; son, Chesley R. “Chip” Parrish, Jr.; sister, Lynda Parrish; brother, Hugh (Beth) Parrish; grandchildren, Jason (Amber) Parrish, David (Ally) Parrish, Ryan (Liz) Parrish and Bradley Parrish; great-grandchildren, Taylor, Jason Jr., Dylan, Connor, David, Jr., Aaliyah, Phoenix and Thomas along with numerous extended family and friends to cherish his honor.

Buster is preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Sylvia; three brothers and one sister.

In lieu of flowers, memorials in Buster’s honor may be given to Gideons International.

Visitation will be held on Monday, December 18, 2023 at Platt’s Funeral Home 337 N. Bel Air Rd. Evans, GA 30809.
