Charles Vincent Swann

Charles Vincent Swann entered into rest on Tuesday morning, September 10, 2024, at the age of 89. He was born in Cullman, AL and raised with a stern work ethic. Charles or “Chuck”, as he was mostly known as, went into the Army at a young age and served his country for over 20 years. After the miliary he had several other careers but he always had a passion for working on or tinkering with cars. Chuck could fix anything with wheels and some things without them. He always had a quick comment and was never shy to share it. Chuck worked hard all his life to provide for his family. He will be missed by both friends and family. They don’t make them like that anymore.

He is survived by his sons Charles Vincent Swann II, David Swann, Jack Sellers, and Jeffery Swann; his daughter Cindy Hill; his sister Edra Eason; his grandchildren Taylor McBee, Meredith Davenport, Addison Thornsbury, Trevor Esposito, Noah Hill, Seth Hill, James Ward, Jessica Ward, Alex Sellers, and Austin Swann; and six great grandchildren.

The family would like to add a special thank you to all the friends and neighbors who helped with watching over Chuck and taking care of him over the last few years.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, September 16, 2024, at Platt’s Funeral Home, Belair Road Chapel, Reverend Alex Henderson officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to service. Interment to follow at Bellevue Memorial Gardens.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to the Alzheimer’s Association at act.alz.org
