Charles Frank Maxey

Charles Frank Maxey, 93, of Martinez, GA went to his heavenly home to be with Jesus on October 16, 2023.

He was born on June 9, 1930 in Chickamauga, GA to John and Effie Maxey. He served six years in the United States Air Force before working 33 years as a Reactor Operator at SRP.

Charles was a devoted husband to his late wife, Mary Scoggins Maxey, for 55 years until her passing earlier this year. Their love is the truest definition of soulmates. He is now with his eternal dancing and traveling partner. He was a member of the Scottish Rite and Shriners, attaining the 33rd Degree and a volunteer at Doctor’s Hospital.

He is survived by daughter, Cynthia Maxey; son, David Maxey; stepdaughters, Deborah Nichols (Donald) Tabor and Donna Nichols Pryor; stepson, Daniel Wesley (Rose Warner) Nichols; step-grandchildren, Bonnie Alexander, Shelby (Phil) Mullinax, Amy (Steve) Chase, Wesley Looper, Bradley (Kathryn) Nichols, Richard Nichols and Cody Nichols and great-grandchildren, Caleb, Courtnie, Mary Kayte, Caroline, Maddy, Meredith, Morgan, Savannah, Abigail, Hudson, Colin, Corbin and Lorelei as well as great-great-grandchildren, Leevigh, Dean and Gabriel.

Charles is preceded in death by his parents; soulmate, Mary Maxey and stepson-in-law, Jerry Pryor.

Funeral Services, officiated by Cynthia Martin, will be held graveside at Bellevue Memorial Gardens on Sunday, October 22, 2023 at 2pm.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations in Charles’ honor be made to the Shriner’s Children’s hospital.
