Charles Francis Mears, Iii

Charles Francis Mears, III, 70, of Augusta, GA peacefully passed away on November 18, 2022 surrounded by his family.

Graveside services will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, November 26, 2022 at Westover Memorial Park.

Charles is survived by his daughters, Alicia Mears of Appling, GA and Kimberly Blackstone (Josh) of Waynesboro, GA; his grandchildren, Dawson Los, Kelly Nicole Gay, Madison Mitchell, Marley Mitchell and Aniston Blackstone; great-grandchildren, Peyton Benton and CJ Benton; sisters, Christa Eremito (Tommy) and Cheri Yaeger (Ted); his aunt, Billie Easler Key; his uncle, Frank Mears and by several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles Francis Mears, Jr. and Frances Lever Mears; and his brother, Calvin Joseph Mears.

Charles is a retired- life member of Local 150 Plumbers and Steamfitters Union of Augusta, GA. He was also a certified Pipefitter-Welder Instructor and a Certified Welding Inspector, which allowed him to travel all over sharing his vast knowledge with many men and women in the Pipefitter Unions industry. Charles was also a member of the Freemasons-Valley of Augusta Scottish Rite location and was a licensed real estate agent for many years. He was an avid golfer, gun enthusiast, a lover of all things pertaining to history and a hobbyist at heart.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday evening, November 25, 2022 from 5:00 until 7:00 PM.
