Charles Albert Ellison, 80, known to his family and friends as “Chuck” or “Buck,” went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, December 31, 2024, at Doctor’s Hospital in Augusta, Georgia.
Chuck is survived by his beloved wife of 56 years, Sandra Perry Ellison, and his children, Shannon Marie Ellison and Charles Daniel Ellison (Janie). He loved his three grandchildren, Chase Nathaniel Ellison, Julia Noelle Boeke, and Carter Thomas Boeke, dearly. He is also survived by his brother, Lowe Ellison (Shirley), and sister, Jo-Ann Sykes, as well as many nieces and nephews.
Chuck, a long-time resident of Evans, Georgia, was born in Washington, D.C. He grew up in Oxon Hill, Maryland, and graduated from Oxon Hill High School. He attended Bob Jones University, earning a degree in accounting. Chuck worked as a forensic CPA for the federal government and retired in 1996. After retiring, Chuck stayed busy working as a commercial realtor and business broker, earning many awards and certificates for outstanding customer service. In recent years, Chuck enjoyed serving his community by driving a school bus for Columbia County schools and a shuttle transporting army troops to Fort Gordon.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Martha Ellison, his brother John William “Bill” Ellison (Janie), and his brother-in-law, Rev. R. L. Sykes.
A celebration of life is planned for the spring of 2025.
