Charles "Charlie" W. Rhoades

Charles “Charlie” Wellington Rhoades, III, 77, entered into rest on August 22, 2024.

 Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, August 27, 2024 at Platt’s Belair Road Chapel with Pastor Christopher Daily officiating. Interment to follow at Westover Memorial Park.

 Charlie was born in Augusta on November 11, 1946 to the late Charles Wellington Rhoades, Jr. and Nelle Horne Rhoades. He was a 1964 graduate of the Academy of Richmond County and also attended Brewton Parker College. Charlie retired from the Augusta Richmond County Fire Department in 2008 after 40 years of faithful and dedicated service. He also worked for Platt’s Funeral Home for 24 years. Affectionally known as “Tuna” to many, Charlie loved to play golf and spending time with his friends and family.

 Charlie is survived by his children, Charli Anne Rhoades Roton (Cameron) of Grovetown and Jay Parker of Roswell, GA; the mother of his children, Janet Ishee Rhoades of Augusta; his brother, Jim Rhoades (Alicia) of Evans; grandchildren, Maddie Parker, Katie Parker and Ella Moody all of Peachtree City, GA and Bella Roton and Eli Roton of Trenton, SC; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

 The family would like to thank the nurses and staff of Pruitt Health Evans for all their care.

 The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday, August 26, 2024 from 4:00 until 6:00 PM.
