Celeste Valentine

Mrs. Celeste Valentine, beloved wife of 62 years of Colonel Frank Valentine, entered into rest on Wednesday, May 10, 2023 at Doctors Hospital.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, May 18, 2023 at Riverview United Church with the Rev. Mark Maund officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.

Celeste loved to travel, particularly in North Africa and Europe, which allowed her to indulge herself in European history and explore the many castles and churches of different countries. She also loved cruises and wilderness camping and was a modern-day pioneer. One of her favorite hobbies was cooking, and she could prepare a gourmet meal that would rival any New York chef. She loved to shop, read and make ceramics, but still found time to volunteer with many different organizations. She belonged to the Women’s Auxiliary of the Shriner’s club, was a Camp Follower of the Sojourners and spent many years as a troop leader of the Girl Scouts. Of all these hobbies and pastimes, being a grandmother was what she loved most. Her granddaughters will cherish the memories of dressing up for tea parties and fun times.

In addition to her husband, Frank, she is survived by her daughter, Valerie Rodriguez (Joe), her grandchildren, Ashley Roberts (Jamaal) and Danielle Lopez, her sisters in law, Nancy Carpenter and Judy Moore (John) and brother in law, Robert Valentine (Elyse), as well as her faithful canine companion, Ellie.
