Mr. Ceferino "Sal" Salazar, beloved husband of 60 years to the late Bette Salazar, entered into rest on Wednesday, October 4, 2023.

Funeral services will be held in the chapel at Bellevue Memorial Gardens with Dr. Randall Whitaker officiating at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, October 10, 2023. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Mr. Salazar’s burial will follow the service.

Mr. Salazar was born in Rosebud, Texas on January 22, 1933. He was drafted into the United States Army during the Korean War which brought him to Georgia, where he met and married Bette in 1956.

As proprietor of Sal's Barber Shop, he was already a successful businessman before returning to school at Augusta College, where he earned his accounting degree. Later, he started Salazar Accounting, now kept in business by his eldest son, Michael.

Sal was an upstanding member of Grove Baptist Church, where he also served as a deacon. In his spare time, he was a golf enthusiast and avid baseball fan!

He is survived by his children: Michael Salazar (Sandra), Edward Salazar (Phyllis), and Toni Kitchens (Mark); his grandchildren: Heather, Michael Jr., Jonathan, Nicole, Austin, Jessica, and Jacob; his great grandchildren: Sutton, Bennett, Pierce, Hudson, and "KB" Kennedy Blair; his niece, Ann Herron and sister-in-law, Gaye Lankford.

The family gives an honorary mention to his long-term caregivers Lisa Wilcher as well as Ms. Mary and the staff of Ostolaza Personal Care Home for the love and support shown to him and his family during this last decade, and to Sharon Watkins and her staff at Gentiva Hospice for helping make the transition so smooth and peaceful.
